Evelyn Mosier was born into captivity in New Jersey, June 1998. Her parents were wealthy and had investments in the Treybourne Optics brand. When approached with the chance to see back their investment, The Eye, a sinister corporation, stepped in with a deal. Evelyn's parents moved to Manhattan, NYC and allowed them to conduct experiments on their daughter while they reaped large profits from Treybourne Optics and The Eye's development of weapons, tech, and biological experiments.The experiments started when she was young. She was taught to control her abilities. When Evelyn's parents couldn't keep control of her abilities, The Eye developed gauntlets that would help her redirect her abilities into something more lethal. They sought to weaponize Evelyn for their own gain. She lashed out at her parents for them allowing her to be treated as she was, took a lump sum of their money, and moved out on her own as a young adult in New York City. She found her calling bartending at 21, and used the money she collected from her parents to open her own nightclub Fire N' Ice. Evelyn enjoyed the party scene and used her powers more for parlor tricks than the greater good.The Eye had different plans for her when they discovered where she had been attacking her in her own club, burning it to the ground. It was up to IRIS to help and recruit her.IRIS had recruited her as an agent, going by the name of Red. She trained as an apprentice to Ayami Wakahisa, the founder of IRIS, and became skilled in combat and figured out how to utilize her gauntlets to her advantage.Not enjoying the hero lifestyle, Evelyn left IRIS, though reassured the team if they ever truly needed her she would return. Evelyn changed her named to Evelyn Winters and took the remainder of her finances and insurance money and reopened Fire N' Ice in Los Angeles, California, as far away from The Eye as she could get...Or so she thought.
